We Racked Up 5 Wins & 5 Nominations at The Drum Awards!

This year has been crazy in more ways than one. We've been working away, from home and sometimes in the office, and found the creative challenge across the past few months to be trying, but also inspiring. We're chuffed to see that The Drum have been loving our work and granted us 5 wins (including The Drum Content Agency of the Year and The Drum DADI Agency of the Year) and 5 other nominations across 3 of their awards.

We're Content Agency of the Year!

The Drum Content Awards got us popping some champagne bottles like you wouldn't believe it, because we won the Agency Of The Year Award!!! We're over the moon about it - over the years, we've been obsessed with building Waste to be the best it can be. We've been busy creating our very own animation studio, starting a charity for creatives, building a rev-share model business to support indie game developers (more on this soon!) as well as keeping clients and wasters happy. So happy to see that our team is getting the recognition it has worked so hard to deserve.

If that wasn't enough, we also saw our King Of Clash project celebrated - for this one, we created the world's first live motion capture game show in partnership with Psyop. It won Best Interactive Entertainment Content Marketing Strategy/Campaign and also got nominated for three categories: the Grand Prix and Most Innovative or Creative Use of Content! Then our Brawlimation project, where we created an epic community fan art challenge to keep players engaged, also got highly commended for Best Creative Idea Using Video.

We're The Drum DADI Agency of the Year!

The Drum DADI Awards have recognised us across a range of different projects, while also awarding us the Agency of the Year Award!

We racked up two nominations for our work with one of our biggest clients, Supercell, both in the category of Entertainment Industry. One for King of Clash, which ended up being the winner and one for Brawlimation (Brawl Stars), which was highly commended. Suppose you know things are going well when you lose to yourself, right?

We also got a highly commended nomination for Best In-House Campaign. In an attempt to reach a more diverse pool of candidates for our new internship role, we created a true to life Waste office in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and posted a brief on our board. We got applicants from all over the world, and found our brilliant new creative intern, Bella!

Social Buzzin'

Then, just to send us off into the weekend on an even higher high, the results of The Drum Social Buzz Awards started rolling in. We got another nomination, one for our Brawlimation project in the Most Effective Use of Group/Community category, and one for King of Clash in the Best Use of Live Video category, which was a winner!

What a hell of a week it's been! Thank you to our amazing wasters and clients for enabling us to do work that we're passionate about, as well as our friends at The Drum - we'll get back to work as soon as we manage to clean off the champagne off our Zoom screens.
